Emmaus International

From 22nd January, come and discover Abbé Pierre’s struggles and the activities currently run by Emmaus organisations around the world through a fun discovery journey accessible to all.

The 22 January 2017 marks the tenth anniversary of the death of Abbé Pierre, founder of Emmaus. A commemorative event will be held with the theme of how Abbé Pierre’s work is being continued.
“As Abbé Pierre’s sole legatee, we have a duty to protect his heritage, as well as to promote his struggles and bring them to life!” explains Patrick Atohoun, Chair of Emmaus International.

Through a fun discovery journey, we offer a means to discover as yet unseen archives that testify to the diversity of Abbé Pierre’s struggles to bring about peace, justice, dignity, sharing and solidarity all around the world.
Throughout his life, Abbé Pierre worked relentlessly to offer everyone access to their basic rights and enable them to live a decent life.

Today, some 350 organisations continue his work in 37 countries around the world. Travel to them by exploring the projects they run to build a truly ethical and social economy, to bring about social and environmental justice as well as peace and freedom of movement and settlement for people at the global level.
