The 30 companions at Emmaus Hampshire carry out the traditional activities of Emmaus communities of collecting, sorting, repairing and selling goods at low prices. The group has two second-hand shops, one in Eastleigh, the other in Winchester, where the companions’ accommodation is located. There is now room there for up to 30 companions, as there is now have 2 flats in Eastleigh for those companions wanting to move on. At the Bar End store, there is also a café – the Green Roof Café –, which offers customers hot drinks and homemade cakes and sandwiches. On the last Sunday of the month, Emmaus Hampshire runs a big sale, where some items are reduced by up to 50%.
