Set up in 1984, during the Lebanese civil war, AEP was supported by Emmaus since its earliest beginnings.

AEP is a microfinance organisation, which grants microcredit to people shut out of the standard banking system so they can set up income-generating activities.
AEP runs Parabanque, a social credit fund, which grants loans based on economic and social criteria.

The organisation supports borrowers with their projects, while giving them full responsibility for them.

AEP is also involved in the priority area on the right to water, particularly as regards borrowers’ agricultural projects.
