The Emmaus Navarre Fundación Traperos was set up in Pamplona in 1972, following a local youth work camp. The community at Belzunce, established in 1978, is a place both to live and to work and is now home to 27 of the group's 190 companions (the others live with families or in shared housing).

The living space has undergone a recent renovation based on the principles of bioclimatic architecture: solar panels, rainwater harvesting, etc. In addition, the community has its own organic garden and works to raise awareness of environmental issues.

The 190 companions at the Emmaus Navarre Foundation work together to collect and sell on second-hand goods at their 6 shops, which are located in Pamplona and the local area. To supply the shops, the group collects goods on a large scale, working with local communities and councils in Navarre, as well as with centres that specialise in Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment recycling (WEEE). The group is self-sufficient, relying on its own income (93%) and on public subsidies (7%), and all its employees are paid the same salary.
