It is with great sadness that we must inform you of the sudden death of Jorge Ambiado who was involved in the Emmaus movement in Uruguay for many years and who had been a member of the board of Emmaus International since 2012.
Chilean resident in Uruguay since 1987, Jorge Ambiado was a social activist and a member of the mutual assistance housing cooperative in Uruguay. In 1990, he joined the Emmaus Aportes group in Montevideo (Uruguay) as a graphic designer and took on a number of different roles, both within his group and on a national and international level.
The Emmaus movement pays homage to Jorge's commitment, camaraderie and humour; he will be sorely missed. The struggle goes on.
