Emmaus International

Discover three events on at the Abbé Pierre – Emmaus Centre this summer… spread the world and feel free to take part!

Open since early 2012, the Abbé Pierre – Emmaus Centre was set up to commemorate the Emmaus movement’s founder. It helps promotes Emmaus’s heritage whilst also providing accommodation. With its elaborate set design, the centre recounts Abbé Pierre’s remarkable life story and ideas and Emmaus´s action around the world, past and present.
This summer, the centre is playing host to three main events:

Sunday 26 July from 9am – 5pm: 2nd big Emmaus sale
Around twenty Emmaus communities are expected to come to the sale, with ccompanions from all around France setting up their stands in the leafy and flower-filled grounds. Bargain and antique hunters will arrive on the day to snap up furniture, decorative items, bikes, toys, crockery and clothes. There'll be something for everyone, whatever your style… and your budget!
The solidarity sale will raise funds for the centre in Esteville and its action for disadvantaged people.

To celebrate 103 years since Abbé Pierre’s birth, a day’s event is being run that’s specially devoted to children. There’ll be up to fifty giant games, musical entertainment, horse, pony and donkey rides, a treasure hunt and educational activities to make the visit to the centre fun and unforgettable!
As Abbé Pierre used to say: “Don’t forget the young”.
