Emmaus International in Tunis – working for a fairer world

An Emmaus International delegation attended the World Social Forum in Tunis from 24 – 28 March. Emmaus International met with other social movements and organisations in Tunis to champion and discuss the right to water, international migration, democratic transition and climate change alternatives.

Emmaus Sweden’s tough task in the Western Sahara

For more than 20 years, Emmaus Sweden has been involved in international solidarity work with people in the Western Sahara. On their first site visit on 8 March, representatives of Emmaus Stockholm including the Chair, Julia Finér, were aggressively and unduly expelled by Moroccan security forces.

Kinto taps on at last!

Villagers at Kinto celebrated the arrival of drinking water on 7th March with the inauguration of the water supply network. 90,000 people around Lake Nokoué now have access to water as a result of the pilot project Emmaus International has been running there since 2006.

Emmaus International at World Social Forum

Emmaus International will be represented at the next World Social Forum in Tunis, Tunisia from 24 – 28 March 2015. The delegation includes executive committee members and activists from the movement who will take part in discussions about the right to water, international migration and democratic transition.
