A special day for Emmaus Ariège

Emmaus Ariège in southern France opened its new sales area on 19 February, the same day it received a new container, to be used to send goods to the Benebnooma group in Burkina Faso.

Death of an Indian activist

The Emmaus movement is sorry to announce that Martine Sawarimuthu, a social activist for more than 45 years, has died. He was a founder member of Emmaus Asia, member of the Emmaus International board and Director of Emmaus organisation, VCDS.

Abbé Pierre meets Blaise Compaoré

Three months before the 2003 world assembly in Ouagadougou, Abbé Pierre travelled to Ouagadougou. As a well-known and respected figure, he was received by the head of state. Abbé Pierre was accompanied by Koudbi Koala, a representative of Emmaus Africa, and Laurent Desmard, his private secretary.

Emmaus Saumur marks 25th anniversary

Emmaus Saumur friends’ committee marked its 25th anniversary on 7th February along with many of the movement’s members from around France, including the chairs of Emmaus France, Emmaus Europe and Emmaus International.
